A lot of people wouldn't know what their lives would be like without Apple. The company obliterated CD Walkmans with the iPod and iTunes, and revolutionized the cell phone with the iPhone. Products like the iPad and Mac book have also been game changers. What many people don't know is that these little doodads that make our days easier and efficient are made in sweat shops by Chinese workers who are under paid and in constant danger. Many workers breath in chemicals to clean the screens off the products, while others have attempted or have committed suicide for reasons that vary. The petition for Apple to clean up its act was drawn out by the group SumOfUs. The group has about 160,000 members worldwide and has gained about 50,000 signatures. I signed the petition, which of course automatically makes me a better person than many, will join this club? The top link will provide the petition.
