This week The Lorax, starring Danny DeVito in the role he was born to play, made bank at the box office garnering in as much money as the November titan Breaking Dawn part 1. The Lorax, based of the Dr. Seuss book, was made by the creators of Despicable Me which is enough to make me wanna see it. Underneath all the top stories of box office success however, lies controversy. Has Dr. Seuss, who turned 108 (he's dead) the same week of The Lorax's debut, sold out? Well if you ask me the beloved childrens author already posthumously sold out with the live action adaptation of The Cat in The Hat starring Mike Myers, which cost me thousands in therapy after watching. How has Seuss supposedly sold out? Well word on the street is, there is a surfeit of product placement in the film and Environmental Propaganda tie ins with the promotions and film itself. In defense though, the book was written about the environment and man! Here just read this article, i'm done rambling for the day
