The Rolling Stones turn 50

The Rolling Stones are a music institution. For the past 50 years they have toured the world and have had #1 singles in every country that has a Popular Billboard Chart. And as of July 2012 they will be the first Rock n Roll band to hit the 50 year milestone. The Beach Boys are organizing a 50th Anniversary too, but so far no one gives a s***. So far no tour dates have been set, but reportedly lead singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards met in December to discuss how to celebrate the occasion. To keep fans tied over the group has released a few concert DVDs, a photo book commemorating 50 years, and a remastered  re-release their 1978 classic "Some Girls" which also contained re-recorded songs from that era that didn't make the first cut. Despite that the songs are great and with new vocals by Jagger it's the closest we'll get to a new Stones Album. The way I see it, if Van Halen can make a new album that's heavily inspired by songs they wrote back in their club days why can't the Stones? It's only Rock n Roll.
